What is a Fish?
Students will use their observation skills to draw conclusions about fish and learn their common body parts.

Fish in My State
Students will learn key terms to help them explain where fish species live and conduct a research project describing a fish that lives in their state.

Fish Adaptation
Students will learn about how structural and behavioral adaptations help fish survive in their aquatic environments and demonstrate their knowledge by selecting a habitat and designing a fish well adapted to survival there.

Food Webs
Students will be introduced to the concept of food webs in aquatic ecosystems and participate in a hands-on food web construction activity to deepen understanding.

Shaping the Land
Students will create river models in stream tables to understand the dynamic processes of rivers, including erosion, deposition, and the impact of various factors such as waterflow and human activity on river behavior.

Nature's Filters
Students will participate in a class discussion about what a wetland is, what its functions are, and what types of wetlands can be found in their area. Students will then collect natural materials and create their own biofilter, mimicking how wetlands filter pollutants out of water.
